February 2016 saw the launch of MeeBox’s most popular theme to date – Red Carpet. The polishes received rave reviews but there was one enigma in the box. A high end luxury brand that many of our subscribers claimed to had never tried or even heard of before – the mighty Smith & Cult.
Created by the beauty veteran Dineh Mohajer who launched Hard Candy (and sparked our polish obsession in the 90’s when Alicia Silverstone was seen wearing it during the ‘Clueless’ PR rounds), Smith & Cult strikes that perfect balance between elegant and edgy and our chosen polish for the Red Carpet theme “Porn-a-thon” is the epitome of elegance in its peachy nude hue while its name throws up some Google search results that are certainly NSFW. But it’s not only the polish names that are quirky; the bottles echo that same sentiment – the intentionally dented lids are “an expression of our unrefined thoughts and feelings,” according to the brand’s site.
Smith & Cult is a polishaholic’s kryptonite. They offer over 30 luxe lacquers in bold and brilliant shades that are 5-free, plus include a top coat and base coat that we simply cannot live without!
Smith & Cult is available in the UK from Selfridges for £19
